whitney farmstead
Malaika Whitney & Matthew Haarklou (alongside our 3 young children), have been farming and ranching here for 11 years, carrying on a family legacy of stewarding this land that began in 1900 by Malaika’s great great grandparents. They raise 100% grassfed beef & lamb, pastured pork & chicken, and maple syrup. They practice regenerative ranching which means we work with our livestock to tend to perennial pastures in a way that builds soil heath, creates habitat, protects watersheds and encourages ecological vibrancy and diversity. The result of this method of land stewardship is deeply nutritious food in the form of beef, lamb, chicken, and pork.

Patriot Pig Farm
Patriot Pig Farm started with one acre of leased land while my wife Emily and I were living in a subdivision. Like many first-generation farmers, I started with nothing but determination and a willingness to learn. Thanks to the guidance of my mentor Thomas Trowbridge (Trowbridge Spot Farm Archbold, OH) I started my farm with two Spotted Poland China sows.
Since our founding in March 2020, Patriot Pig Farm has operated as a farrow-to-finish farm, raising our hogs from birth to harvest. We take tremendous pride in producing high-quality pork and have sold direct-to-consumer, feeding families who value farm-to-table meat and knowing exactly where their food comes from.
